A young Naperville-area man remained Friday night in DuPage County Jail on $25,000 bail, accused of punching another youth and knocking out one of his teeth during a robbery attempt last summer on the city’s far south side.
Michael D. Wisch, 17, of the 600 block of Clover Court near west-central Naperville, faces trial in DuPage County Circuit Court on felony charges of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and attempted robbery.
Wisch was arrested on a warrant about 10:55 a.m. Thursday near Naperville Central High School in the 400 block of Aurora Avenue, according to Naperville police reports.
Police Sgt. Kathy Anderson said Friday the warrant was issued following an incident July 18 outside the 7-Eleven convenience store at 1925 S. Washington St., near the Old Farm neighborhood.
Wisch and three other youths were outside the store when Wisch and one of the others allegedly attacked two other youth, Anderson said. Wisch and his friend were reputedly trying to rob the others.
Anderson said Wisch allegedly punched one of the other youths in the mouth, dislodging one of his teeth. Wisch and his friend then fled from the scene, she said.
Records on file in the DuPage County and Will County court systems indicated Wisch has no significant record here.
Wisch’s arraignment date is pending. Anderson added police are continuing their search for his alleged accomplice.
