Two motorists remained hospitalized Tuesday night following a two-car crash in far west-central Naperville.
Paramedics took the drivers of the vehicles to Edward Hospital in Naperville following the crash. It occurred about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Fort Hill Drive, along the border between the city’s Ivy Ridge and Wildflower neighborhoods.
Naperville Fire Department Capt. Dave Ferreri said the female driver of one car was taken to the hospital on advanced life support, while the male driver of the other car went there on basic life support.
Ferreri said he did not know the names, ages or home towns of the motorists, but that neither appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
The crash involved a silver-colored car that came to rest near the middle of the intersection and a red-colored car that halted near a traffic light at the southeast corner. Ferreri said the woman was driving the silver-colored car and had to be extricated from its wreckage.
Ferreri said the crash was treated as a “special rescue response.” A total of 15 firefighters and paramedics went to the scene in seven emergency vehicles, he said.
Traffic in the area was snarled for about an hour. Tow trucks removed both cars from the scene.
Naperville police early Tuesday night had no details about the crash.
