Plackowska indicted on 10 counts of first-degree murder

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin announced Thursday that a DuPage County grand jury has returned a 12-count indictment against Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, of 234 E. Bailey Road, Naperville, in connection with the stabbing deaths of her son, 7-year-old Justin Plackowska and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting, Olivia Dworakowski, also of Naperville.
The indictment, filed Thursday afternoon, alleges five counts of first-degree murder against Plackowska for the death of Olivia Dworakowski and five counts of first-degree murder for the death of Justin Plackowski.
In addition, the indictment alleges two counts of aggravated cruelty for the stabbing death of two family dogs, a mixed-breed dog named Niki and a dachshund named Tootsie.
Plackowska’s is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in front of DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman.
If Plackowska is convicted, she faces a mandatory sentence of natural life in prison without the possibility of parole.
