Reward offered for information on Naper bottle bomb incident

Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information about an incident where a small bottle bomb was set off on the front porch of a house in Naperville last week.

No one was injured in the incident Nov. 14.

According to Naperville police, at about 9:05 p.m. that night, someone ran up to the front door of a house on the 900 block of Merrimac Circle and rang the doorbell a number of times. When no one answered the door, the person placed a small homemade bottle bomb on the front porch.

The bomb exploded before anyone opened the door. There was no significant damage nor any injuries caused from the explosion, police said.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about it or the suspect involved are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.
