An early Christmas fire caused more than $125,000 in damage to a Naperville home in the southern part of the city.
Officials received a 911 call at 4:22 a.m. from a resident at 27W140 96th Court saying the house was on fire, according to a city press release.
Responding firefighters found heavy amounts of smoke and flames coming from the attached two-car garage. The general alarm brought 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 fire personnel to the scene.
It took about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The main body of the fire was confined to the garage, although fire did extend into the attic portion of the house. There were no injuries, according to the press release.
The Will County Building Department will make a determination if the home will remain habitable, the press release said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Naperville Police Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Department.
