Convicted drug dealer, woman nabbed in Naper cocaine bust

A man who served time in prison on narcotics and theft charges and an associate face trial for allegedly possessing cocaine near a Naperville apartment complex.
Kirk D. Stallworth, 43, of Chicago, and Secunda U. McKnight, 40, of the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue in Naperville, were arrested about 7:07 p.m. Jan. 16 near McKnight’s home just northwest of Will-O-Way Park, according to Naperville police. Both were charged with the felony manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, while Stallworth was also charged with resisting or obstructing police.
Sgt. Lou Cammiso confirmed Stallworth and McKnight were arrested as part of an undercover investigation by members of the police department’s Special Operations Group. “As such, we will not release details of the investigation itself,” Cammiso said in an e-mail.
The amount of cocaine seized was “small, classified as personal use” and having a street sale value of $50, Cammiso said.
Stallworth has been arrested three times in just over a month, each time on the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue. In addition to the most recent arrest, he was charged Dec. 14 with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and battery, and on Dec. 30 with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and violating the conditions of his bond in the earlier case.
He has gone to prison at least three times in 11 years. Records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court indicated Stallworth first went to prison in June 1997, receiving a two-year sentence after being found guilty of felony retail theft in Naperville.
Records in Will County Circuit Court in Joliet showed Stallworth was sentenced in March 2000 to five years in prison on a charge of felony retail theft, as well as three years for narcotics possession and obstruction of justice.
He was sent to prison yet again in July 2008, receiving a five-year term for the manufacture or delivery of 1-15 grams of cocaine, according to Will County court records.
Stallworth’s other crimes include three instances of battery in 1989 in the Downers Grove area, for which he was sentenced to 90 days in jail; and a May 1996 conviction for shoplifting in Darien.
McKnight, who also uses the surname McNight-Mason, in September 2002 was ordered to perform 40 hours of community service work and placed on supervision, after being convicted of attempted resisting or obstructing of police in a DuPage sheriff’s office case.

Arraignment dates for both Stallworth and McKnight are pending.
