Blaze destroys car wash

Naperville Fire Department officials Saturday were still investigating the cause of a fire which engulfed a car wash on Brookdale Road on the north end of the city.
Fire swept through the car wash next to a BP gas station at 1983 Brookdale Road at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, causing about $300,000 in damage.
The fire department was called to the scene and reported smoke and flames coming from the structure. Twenty-six firefighters and 10 pieces of equipment took about 10 minutes to contain the blaze after it was determined no people were inside the car wash.
One firefighter was reported injured.
