Residents can vote for concert locations, bands

Did you ever think you could be a concert promoter? Well, in a way that’s what the Naperville Park District is looking for as part of a new drive to get people in Naperville involved in district events.
The Naperville Park District invites residents to vote for their preferred location and style of music for the 2013 summer concert series, Concerts in Your Park, presented by Continental Motors of Naperville.
Concerts in Your Park is a free summer music series that travels to select Naperville parks featuring bands from the Chicago area that appeal to audiences of all ages.
For the past 10 years, concert locations and performers have been selected by Naperville Park District staff. For this 11th season, the district and the presenting sponsor, Continental Motors of Naperville, want to let residents choose among several parks in each geographical area of the city.
Interested residents may cast their vote through Feb. 27, 2013 by accessing the following link: http://www.napervilleparks.org/yourconcertyourparkyourchoice.
The winners will be announced on March 1, 2013 on the Naperville Park District’s website at www.napervilleparks.org.
