Traverso’s Restaurant back open after Friday fire

Traverso’s Restaurant opened at 4 p.m. as usual on Saturday after a kitchen fire caused about $15,000 in damages to the eatery at 2523 Plainfield-Naperville Road in Naperville Friday night.
The Naperville Fire Department responded to an activated fire alarm at the restaurant at 6:51 p.m. and soon after received a call from an employee about a fire in the kitchen. The employees were advised to get everyone out of the building.
Fire crews arrived at about 7 p.m. and put out the kitchen fire within minutes, remaining on the scene to check the walls and ceiling around the origin of the fire, which is listed as unintentional.
No one was injured during the fire. Traverso’s remained closed for the rest of the evening Friday to go through routine inspections to make sure the building was safe.
