Funeral services set for former Naperville mayor

Funeral services have been set for Chester J. “Chet” Rybicki, who was mayor of Naperville from 1975 to 1983.
Rybicki, 96, passed away on Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St. in Naperville.
Funeral services will be at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road in Naperville.
Interment will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Naperville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry, 1871 High Grove Lane, Naperville, IL 60540, are requested.
Rybicki was born March 25, 1916, in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was married to his wife, Mickey, from 1941 until she passed away in 2002.
Rybicki was a Naperville Township trustee and then town clerk. He ran for mayor in 1967 and 1971 and was successful in 1975, serving two terms in office.
