Experts to discuss shifting perspectives in women’s health care

Join AAUW Naperville Area at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 for a conversation with health-care experts about changing recommendations for women as well as strategies for maintaining optimum health at the 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive, Naperville.

The following topics will be discussed: guidelines for preventative medicine, including screenings for breast, ovarian and cervical cancer; cardiovascular disease; breast cancer treatment, including overdiagnosis; and controversies regarding calcium supplements, hormone replacement therapy and statin use.

Panelists representing the medical and medical research fields include Julie Jensen, M.D., obstetrics and gynecology, board certified; Kelly Vuong, M.D., internal medicine, board certified; Kathleen H. Goss, Ph.D., senior science writer and director of strategic partnerships, University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center; and Elizabeth Jablonski, Ph.D., director, Research Health Initiatives, Lakeshore Division, American Cancer Society Inc.
