College Report: Waubonsie’s Jordan Myers is solid as a rock in goal

Jordan Myers, a Waubonsie Valley graduate, is looking forward to getting back to the soccer field for her senior season.

But, she is currently celebrating her junior season. She was recently one of five Wisconsin-Whitewater athletes to be named to the NCAA Division III All-North Region team sponsored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

For her junior season, she was topped only once, in the NCAA Division III playoffs. She finished the year with a record of 16-1-4. She made 79 saves and allowed only 19 goals. Of her victories, eight were shutouts.

“If there is one thing I want to be better at next year, it is to be more consistent and steady,” said Myers. “For me, it is about winning soccer games, not getting an individual honor. I would gladly trade every single one for a national title. I just want to get beyond the third round. The entire team provided the defense this year. I loved the record, that was great.”

Myers was one of three Wisconsin-Whitewater athletes named to the first team. One other was named to the second team, while a fifth player was named to the third team. UWW finished 17-1-4 and 8-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
