Police Report

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Sunday, Feb. 2

1Theft: A 20-year-old woman reported between 1:30 and 7 p.m., $400 stolen from wallet inside her purse, after wallet was found on floor of closet inside unidentified business on 600 block of South Route 59.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

2Theft: A 31-year-old woman reported between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., catalytic converter cut off and stolen from her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier while parked on 800 block of West 75th Street.

3Theft: A 51-year-old man reported between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., catalytic converter cut off and stolen from his vehicle while parked in private lot on 2600 block of 91st Street.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

4Abandoned vehicle: About 1:49 a.m., police found vehicle abandoned near Robin Hill Drive and Washington Street during snowstorm; report provided no further information.

5Property damage: About 4:18 a.m., newspaper delivery worker called police to report seeing several mailboxes damaged outside homes in area of Stonegate Road and Birchwood Drive.

6Burglary: Sometime between Dec. 13 and 10:30 a.m. today, buss plate and unspecified amount of copper wiring stolen from grounds of Sprint cell phone tower on 2000 block of West Ogden Avenue.

7Vandalism: Sometime between noon Feb. 3 and 5:37 p.m. today, nonsense words and nicknames spray-painted in green and blue on Boy Scouts of America trailer parked in lot of Holy Spirit Catholic Community Church, 2003 W. 111th St.

8Prostitution: Marissa D. Rice, 27, Waukesha, Wis.; 11:37 p.m. on 1500 block of Naperville-Wheaton Road; charged with prostitution; also wanted on a warrant.

Thursday, Feb. 6

9Property damage: Richard P. Langenfeld, 43, 1400 block of Inverrary Drive; 2:43 a.m. on 300 block of North Sleight Street; charged with criminal damage to property.

10Disorderly conduct: Ivan F. Servin, 35, El Paso, Texas; 9:54 a.m. at unidentified business at 175 Ambassador Drive; charged with disorderly conduct/breach of peace, after deliberately triggering fire alarm when there was no fire, leading to complete evacuation of business.

11Suspended license: Demetrius D. Powell, 23, 100 block of Testa Drive; 10:03 a.m. near Sequoia and River roads; charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding.

12Drug paraphernalia possession: About 12:59 p.m., unidentified male or female charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, after paraphernalia was found inside home on 400 block of Gateshead Drive.

13Driving too fast: About 3:19 p.m., unidentified motorist lost control of vehicle on patch of ice on 400 block of Aurora Avenue; vehicle hit city of Naperville streetlight pole and then became stuck in snowbank; motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.

14Driving under the influence: Carmelo Stefanelli, 61, Homer Glen; 8:19 p.m., after being followed by police to 75th Street and Route 53, Woodridge; charged with DUI, driving without insurance, failure to signal and improper lane use.

15No insurance: Gerino A. Casal, 23, Plainfield; 9:39 p.m. near Leverenz Road and Route 59; charged with driving without insurance and driving 30 mph or more over posted speed limit.

16Suspended license: Latrisha N. Jones, 24, Joliet; 11:03 p.m. near Gartner Road and Julian Court; charged with driving with a suspended license and a vehicular lighting violation.
