Registration is ongoing for the Naperville Sunrise Rotary Club’s St. Paddy’s Day 5K Race, Run or Walk starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 15, just before the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Naperville.
The course is professionally chipped timed to ensure race time accuracy. A disposable timing chip is attached to each numbered bib.
There are cash awards to the overall top three men’s and women’s runners. Awards will also be provided to the top three finishers in each age group. St. Patrick’s Day-themed costumes and hats are encouraged. A costume award category has been added this year.
Spectators for the parade will arrive early to cheer on runners. Runners and spectators can enjoy a snack buffet, water and holiday-appropriate green hydration after finishing.
“We are excited to present this 5K event to raise funds to protect and lead young people to healthy futures, “ says club president John Nania. “This has become one of Naperville’s most-anticipated signature events in five short years. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate family, health and fun.”
