Naperville CARES, a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to provide emergency financial support and resources for local families in crisis, announces that Greg Kunkel, Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Wheaton Bank & Trust, has joined the non-profit’s board of directors.

“The board members and I are looking forward to working with Greg are very grateful that he has decided to use his time and talents to help us advance the mission of CARES,” said Janet Derrick, Naperville CARES executive director.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA, Kunkel began his career with First Chicago/NBD before joining Park National Bank (which later became part of US Bank) in 2001.

In March 2011, Kunkel left US Bank to join Wheaton Bank & Trust, where he has continued with his 22 years of experience in Commercial and Business banking in the areas of relationship management, underwriting and credit policy.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to be on the Board of Naperville CARES. I truly look forward to being a part of such a wonderful organization and working with its current staff and Board of Directors to help further its mission,” Kunkel said.

Naperville CARES’ fifteen-member board supports the organization’s mission, purpose, goals, policies and programs, serving as ambassadors to the community and advocating on behalf of the organization.
