Police Blotter: Woman reports obscene note left on windshield

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Tuesday, March 4

Disorderly conduct: About 7:30 a.m., 35-year-old woman reported “two anonymous, handwritten notes” left on windshield of her vehicle while parked in lot of Chantecleer Lakes Condominiums, 1550 Raymond Drive; first note of Feb. 26 “had more complimentary comments,” while second note, discovered earlier today, contained “obscene comments.”

Revoked license: Darwin O. Cruz, 27, 700 block of Royal St. George Drive; 12:39 a.m. near Ogden and Fifth avenues; charged with driving with a revoked license.

Trespassing: A 25-year-old man reported between 8 p.m. March 3 and 6:30 a.m., vehicle was moved “by unknown person and unknown means” from one space to another in parking lot of apartment complex on 800 block of Benedetti Drive; nothing stolen from vehicle, which sustained no damage.

Marijuana possession: Matthew S. Wendt, 21, 1300 block of Briarwood Drive; 3:31 p.m. near Jefferson Avenue and River Road; charged with possession of marijuana; companion Emil M. Evans, 20, Highland Park, taken into custody on two outstanding arrest warrants.

Drug possession: Marcus J. Rose, 32, 1900 block of Town Drive; 5:17 p.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Shoplifting: Lisa R. Tolbert, 49, Plainfield; 8:09 p.m. at Goodwill Industries, 539 Fort Hill Drive; charged with retail theft.

Shoplifting: About 8:57 p.m., unidentified male or female charged with retail theft and disorderly conduct at unidentified business on 500 block of South Route 59.

Wednesday, March 5

Property damage: About 9:43 a.m., unidentified motorist lost control of vehicle, left roadway near Ring Road and Washington Street and struck and knocked down tree owned by city of Naperville; no injury reported, no tickets issued.

Disorderly conduct: About 1:08 p.m., police were called to 0-99 block of Oakwood Drive; resident told police “driver of city (snow plow) was driving too fast while plowing side street;” resident “swung shovel and struck rear of city vehicle twice;” no damage reported; snow plow driver declined to pursue criminal charges.

Driving under the influence: Rajeev K. Goswami, 41, 2100 block of Skylane Drive; 1:34 p.m. near Old Town Pizza of Naperville, 2959 Artesian Road; charged with two counts DUI.

Unlicensed driver: About 4:56 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without a license, following traffic stop near Aurora and Ogden avenues.

Excessive speeding: Tate J. Anderson, 18, 3300 block of Lapp Lane; 9:39 p.m. near Leverenz Road and Route 59; charged with driving 35 mph or more over posted speed limit and operating vehicle while texting.

Warrant: Robert J. Loncar, 51, 3400 block of Redwing Drive; 10:07 p.m. during well-being check police conducted at home on 3800 block of Royal Dornach Court; taken into custody on outstanding, $5,000 arrest warrant.

Suspended license: Jose L. Garcia, 33, 6S500 block of South Naper Boulevard; 10:21 p.m. near Ogden Avenue and Naper Boulevard; charged with driving with a suspended license.
