Come Thursday, commuters must find a different way to get to McDowell Road from Route 59.
Because of waterman work, workers are scheduled to close for up to a week access to and from McDowell Road via Route 59. The work is in conjunction with the Route 59 Expansion Project.
Local traffic on McDowell Road will be maintained using Bond Street, according to a press release.
Work will continue, depending on the weather and other circumstances.
Ongoing utility and watermain work continues on the roadway project that began last August. Contractors are busy preparing the area for the next stage of construction that is expected to begin soon with the start of the spring construction season.
The next phase will include more permanent lane closures throughout the corridor that will result in additional traffic delays and congestion.
