Vinnie

Bananas

Age: 9 years old

Breed: Male domestic short hair

Background: His owner gave him up.

Personality: Bananas is a two-paw declaw and obviously very big. He is a love bug and is a lap cat. He likes men, women and older children. Oh, one more thing, he is very talkative — especially around meal time and when you are pouring water.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Bonnie

Age: 2-1/2 years old

Breed: Pit bull terrier mix

Background: Bonnie came from Aurora Animal Control

Personality: Bonnie is a happy friendly girl who arrived at ADOPT in December. Bonnie is a playful and smart gal who is looking for a family with older kids that will take her for walks and continue working with her on her obedience. She knows sit, down and give paw to name a few. She would do best in a home with no other animals.

Adoption fee: $250

Betsy

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Short-haired tabby

Background: Betsy has been in foster care since she was a kitten, along with her three sisters.

Personality: Betsy is a pretty tabby/tortie cat. She has the shiniest, softest fur imaginable. She loves to flop on her back for belly rubs and enjoys playing with her favorite toy, the turbo scratcher. Betsy is a real sweetie.

Adoption fee: $100

Other: Spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines

Where to find this pet: Paws and Purrs Humane Society, 630-897-8738, www.pawsandpurrs.org.

Cookie

Age: 1-1/2 years old

Breed: Retriever/chow mix

Background: She was found as a stray in Naperville.

Personality: Cookie is a very busy and high energy dog in search of a family that can keep up with her! She enjoys going for long walks and runs, and would love to find a home with a large backyard where she can play and have fun with her new family.

Other: Cookie might be OK living with cats, but she would do best as the only dog in the home. Because she is very strong and can sometimes be a little rowdy, children in Cookie’s new home should be a little older and experienced with dogs. She is very smart and loves learning new things, so obedience training will be a lot of fun for her.

Adoption fee: $200

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road in Naperville, www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Martini

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: He was found as a stray and brought to NAHS.

Personality: Martini is a sweet, gentle cat who is a little on the shy side. With calm, gentle affection, he is becoming more and more outgoing and comfortable each day. Martini might do OK living with another friendly cat, and it might help to bring out his more playful side. Because a lot of activity can make him nervous, a quiet and calm home with older children would fit him best.

Adoption fee: $50

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Cordell

Age: 3 years old

Breed: Manchester terrier mix

Personality: Affectionate and oh-so-lovable, Cordell is a real people dog and likes to spend most of his time with them. His favorite place is right on your lap! A yard to run around in is essential for this 15-pound bundle of energy. Cordell loves to chase a ball and spends many an afternoon chewing his toys and rawhide bones. He enjoys going on walks with you, too. Although he’s a bit too energetic for little ones, Cordell is great with older kids. He’s also good with other dogs.

Other: Cordell is neutered, housebroken, crate-trained and current on his vaccinations; microchipping is included with his adoption fee. He sleeps all night in his crate and is housebroken.

Adoption fee: $200
