Police Blotter: Street racers charged with speeding up to 35 mph over the limit

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Sunday, March 9

Theft: A 28-year-old woman reported between 12:01 and 2 a.m., purse containing Apple iPhone 5S and state of Illinois identification card stolen from inside Rizzo’s, 6 W. Jefferson Ave.; total loss estimated at $300.

Property damage: Casey E. Greenberg, 20, 2100 block of Skylane Drive; 4:48 a.m. at Kimmel Hall, 224 N. Loomis St., on campus of North Central College; charged with knowingly damaging property and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Shoplifting: About 1:01 p.m., theft of unspecified merchandise occurred at Goodwill Industries, 539 Fort Hill Drive.

Unlicensed driver: About 3:26 p.m., unidentified motorist tried to change lanes near Naperville-Wheaton Road and Naper Boulevard, and struck another vehicle; no injuries reported; at-fault driver charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance and improper lane use.

Suspended license: Jordan A. McMullen, 22, Downers Grove; 5:29 p.m. near Plank Road and Springhill Circle; charged with driving with a suspended license.

Trespassing: Carlos A. Skenandore, 19, 1300 block of Braymore Circle; and Anthony J. Kurek and Carrington A. Merriweather, both 20, of Aurora; 8:43 p.m. on the 4500 block of Chinaberry Lane; charged with criminal trespassing to land; Merriweather also taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrant.

Street racing: Brian A. Krapf, 21, Darien; 11:30 p.m. near 75th Street and Book Road; charged with street racing, driving 26 to 35 mph over the speed limit and driving without insurance.

Monday, March 10

Theft: A 45-year-old woman reported between March 8 and today, Illinois license plate registration stolen from the front of 2014 BMW while parked outside the home on 4100 block of Diamond Court.

Vehicle damage: A 23-year-old man reported between 6:15 p.m. March 9 and 7:15 a.m., rear, passenger-side door handle broken off vehicle parked outside home on 600 block of Morningside Drive.

Property damage: A 30-year-old man reported between March 3 and 4:54 p.m. netting damaged on trampoline at home on the 1200 block of Redfield Road.

Shoplifting: Irma Garcia, 39; 5:03 p.m. at Nordstrom Rack, 2511 W. 75th St.; charged with retail theft.

Unlicensed driver: Emanuel Garcia-Banvelos, 26; 8:47 p.m. near Ferry Road and Corporate Lane; charged with driving without a license.

Suspended license: Sebastian E. Villegas, 21; 8:50 p.m. near 111th Street and Book Road; charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.

Warrant: Altaf Alam, 23; 10:08 p.m. near 95th Street and Wolf’s Crossing Road; taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Trespassing: About 11:38 p.m., unidentified homeless person charged with criminal trespass to land, after being found at Metra Railway Fourth Avenue commuter train depot, 105 E. Fourth Ave.
