Jordan Shead didn’t need to hear the announcement that Saturday’s Upstate Eight girls track and field indoor championship would come down to the last race.

She already knew.

The Notre Dame-bound standout anchored St. Charles East’s winning 1,600-meter relay, securing enough points to share the conference title with Neuqua Valley in a scintillating finish at Batavia.
