Leon Thornton III isn’t going to get mad about the latest obstacle in his path. Instead, the Montini junior plans to get better.
“We’re always excited for a new challenge,” said Thornton, a member of the Broncos’ football team that lost in the Class 5A final last season to end a run of four consecutive state titles.
“Whether we’re 5A, 6A, 7A or even 8A, we still have to work hard to redeem ourselves from last year.”
Thornton and the rest of his teammates will be arguably the highest-profile program affected by the success advancement factor approved in February by the Illinois High School Association board of directors.
