The Ravinia Festival today announced the addition of numerous artists to their summer lineup.
New concerts include:
— Maxwell (July 2);
— Billy Corgan, with Katie Cole (Aug. 30);
— Joss Stone, with Lisa Fischer (“20 Feet from Stardom”) (Sept. 10);
— John Hiatt & The Combo; and The Robert Cray Band (June 29).
Additions to previously announced shows include:
— American Authors (with OneRepublic and The Script, June 18-19);
— Toad the Wet Sprocket; Daniel and the Lion (with Counting Crows, July 14);
— Andrew McMahon (with Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson, July 21);
— Vintage Trouble (with Heart, Aug. 3);
— the Wallflowers (with Train, Aug. 22-23);
— Katrina (from Katrina & the Waves, with Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey and Howard Jones, Aug. 27).
In addition, lawn audiences can enjoy a jumbo video screen for select concerts from July 12-21.
Ravinia also announced its Kids Concerts series, which includes:
— The Chinese Circus of Beijing and Laurie Berkner, June 14; (separate admission required for each)
— Tom Chapin, July 12
— Ralph’s World, July 19
— the Ruth Page Civic Ballet, Sept. 13.
Special this year will be a free performance of “Kids Playing for Kids,” featuring the Lang Lang Young Scholars with Midwest Young Artists Symphony Orchestra on Aug. 15 (reservations required through Ravinia’s box office).
