Softball: West Aurora overcomes early deficit to knock off Metea Valley

With all that was stacked against Metea Valley and West Aurora, cold weather, poor field conditions, not much practice time outdoors, it figured that the team which could persevere through those factors  would come out on top Wednesday.

It was West Aurora that emerged with its first win of the season, surviving a 7-3 game that saw nine combined errors.

West (1-2) overcame a 2-0 Metea Valley lead with a three-run bottom of the fourth, aided by three Metea errors, to climb back in the game. The Blackhawks put it away with two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
