Police Blotter: Chicago man charged with illegal weapons

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Tuesday, April 1

Unlicensed driver: Ferdin Castellanos, 26, Palatine; 7:41 p.m. near eastbound Interstate 88 and Route 59; charged with driving without a license and two traffic control violations.

Shoplifting: Zaira A. Garcia, 20, 1300 block of Crab Apple Court; 8:08 p.m. at Walmart SuperCenter, 2552 W. 75th St.; charged with retail theft and driving without a license.

Disorderly conduct: Marian Prescott, 43, 1600 block of Coach Drive; 10:52 p.m. on 400 block of East Bailey Road; charged with disorderly conduct/two or more to disturb the public peace, after police investigated “report of large number of people arguing/fighting;” 17-year-old boy charged with fighting.

Wednesday, April 2

Warrant: George T. Walker, 21, 300 block of West Ogden Avenue; 12:01 a.m. near Sixth Avenue and Morningside Drive; taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrant.

Illegal weapons: Apriyani C. Lord-Jackson, 20, Chicago; 1:37 a.m. at city of Naperville public parking deck, 43 W. Van Buren Ave.; charged with unlawful use of weapons and obstructing identification; also taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrant.

Leaving crash scene: Matina A. Kutrubis, 20, Lisle; 9:10 a.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with leaving scene of accident involving vehicle damage.

Property damage: Between 10 p.m. April 1 and 9:45 a.m., unknown, blunt object used to smash mailbox outside home on 3100 block of Brossman Street; loss estimated at $50.

Suspended license: Miguel Mendoza, 54, 700 block of Royal St. George Drive; 2:23 p.m. near Dickens Lane and Ogden Avenue; charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance; vehicle seized by police.

Shoplifting: About 2:48 p.m., unidentified male or female issued city of Naperville ticket for retail theft from Goodwill Industries, 539 Fort Hill Drive.

Aggravated assault: Nicholas Nakos, 49, 400 block of Valley Drive; 8:07 p.m. near Five Guys Burgers & Fries, 22 E. Chicago Ave.; charged with aggravated assault and being a pedestrian under the influence.

Narcotics possession: Jose G. Flores, 18, 200 block of Basswood Drive; 11:35 p.m. at home on 1800 block of Princess Circle; charged with possession of a controlled substance; companion Ryan N. Blacker, 18, 3200 block of Tussel St., charged with consumption of liquor by minor and interfering with police.

Thursday, April 3

Theft: Nathaniel L. McCall, 18, 0-99 block of Olympus Drive; 12:23 a.m. at home; charged with theft of less than $500 by unauthorized control of another.

Driving under the influence: Virginia I. Rodriguez, 30, Chicago; 1:04 a.m. near Feldott Lane and Ogden Avenue; charged with DUI, driving without insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, after vehicle left roadway and struck traffic light pole.

DUI: Judy A. Smullen, 49, 2500 block of Durango Lane; 10:11 a.m. at home; charged with two counts DUI.

Warrant: Christopher B. Thompson, 22, Aurora; 12:35 p.m. near Bank of America, 2943 95th St.; taken into custody on outstanding, $10,000 arrest warrant.

Suspended license: Shalonda Y. Payne, 41, 100 block of East Bailey Road; 5:15 p.m. near Bailey Road and Oxford Lane; charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to signal.

Battery: Alexis C. Williams, 18, 1600 block of Coach Drive; 7:06 p.m. at 7-Eleven, 351 E. Bailey Road; charged with battery and two counts resisting a peace officer.

DUI: Michael A. Parsons, 36, Chicago; 8:24 p.m. on 2700 block of Showplace Drive; charged with DUI.

No insurance: About 9:09 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, after causing two-vehicle, rear-end traffic crash near 75th Street and Beebe Drive.

Suspended license: Bryant S. Fitzgerald, 34, Coal City; 9:59 p.m. near Leverenz Road and Route 59; charged with driving with a suspended license.

No insurance: About 10:13 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, after causing two-vehicle traffic crash near 75th and Washington streets.

Suspended license: Joshua A. Hagan, 20, 2800 block of Cedar Glade Drive; 11:09 p.m. at home; charged with driving with a suspended license and a vehicular lighting violation.
