These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Thursday, April 3

1 Vehicle damage: A 45-year-old woman reported between 3 p.m. March 28 and 8 a.m. today, vehicle damaged while parked in driveway of home on 1500 block of Preston Road.

Friday, April 4

2 Theft: A 53-year-old Bolingbrook man reported between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., black backpack containing laptop computer and Apple iPad stolen on 1400 block of Green Trails Drive; total loss estimated at $1,100.

3Theft: A 53-year-old woman reported sometime between April 3 and today, necklace and ring stolen from her home on 2700 block of Cotton Creek Court; report provided no further information.

Saturday, April 5

4Theft: A 45-year-old Schaumburg woman reported between 2 and 4 p.m., wallet stolen at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, 1740 Freedom Drive.

Sunday, April 6

5DUI: About 12:55 a.m., unidentified, male motorist charged with DUI, driving without a license, driving without insurance and speeding on North Aurora Road near California Northern Railroad tracks.

6DUI: David C. Stupp, 25, Aurora; 1:11 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Rickert Drive; charged with two counts DUI, two counts disobeying a traffic control device and one count each driving without insurance, improper lane use and speeding.

7Suspended license: Justin A. Vahl, 26, Aurora; 2:21 a.m. during well-being check near Taco Bell, 2775 Aurora Ave.; charged with driving with a suspended license.

8DUI: William E. Lapoe, 21, 500 block of South Webster Street; 2:43 a.m. near 75th Street and River Road; charged with two counts DUI and one count each failure to yield right of way to emergency vehicle, driving across double yellow line in roadway, improper lane use and speeding.

9Public dispute: About 3:06 a.m., police summoned to mediate dispute between contract security guard and front desk clerk at Chicago Marriott Naperville, 1801 N. Naper Blvd.; no arrests made or tickets issued.

Monday, April 7

10 Vandalism: Sometime before 6:41 a.m., illegible lettering and symbols spray-painted in orange on two electrical boxes at rear of vacant store in strip mall on 1800 block of Wehrli Road.

11Warrant: Filiberto Torres, 39, hometown not provided; 8:16 a.m. at Speedway, 631 N. Route 59; taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrant.

12Suspicious incident: A 67-year-old woman reported about 9:05 a.m., “house cleaner accidentally walked into the wrong house to clean” on 2700 block of Modaff Road.

13Recovered property: About 10:11 a.m., a 43-year-old man reported finding two small jewelry bags at curb outside home on 700 block of Alexandria Drive; bags appeared to contain costume jewelry; man told police bags “have been there since mid-winter, and are just now no longer buried by the snow;” property possibly discarded following burglary, and taken into evidence by police.

14Theft: A 16-year-old boy reported between 11 a.m. March 25 and 12:23 p.m. today, “sophomore student took a wallet containing various gift cards from a backpack” at Neuqua Valley High School, 2360 95th St.; wallet since recovered.

15Shoplifting: Robert Laguna, 33, hometown not provided; 1:05 p.m. at unidentified business on 1300 block of South Route 59; charged with retail theft.

16Suspicious incident: A 61-year-old resident of 800 block of Pas Court reported about 2 p.m., “unknown caller tried to scam (her) by asking for credit card number.”

17Property damage: Alexander C. Iwerebon, 18, hometown not provided; 4:39 p.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with knowingly damaging property.
