College of DuPage is looking for pregnant volunteers to participate in free scanning sessions. Read the full release below.

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking pregnant volunteers to participate in free evening scanning sessions this spring.

The sessions will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. each Wednesdaythrough May 7. These sessions allow DMIS students to practice their scanning skills under the supervision of certified sonographers. Participants receive a “first photo” of their baby to take home and family members are welcome to observe.

The scans are not diagnostic tests, and reports are not issued. Volunteers are asked to obtain verbal permission from their physicians prior to the session.

Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes, and volunteers are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their appointments. Spots are expected to fill quickly. For more information or to schedule an appointment, e-mail
