Neuqua, Waubonsie students awarded by National Merit Scholarship Corporation

 

 

Students from Naperville area schools have been awarded Achievement Scholarships by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Read the release below.

Today, National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 800 outstanding Black American high school seniors who have won Achievement Scholarship awards through the National Achievement Scholarship Program. These awards, totaling over $2 million, are financed by grants from 31 corporate organizations and professional associations, and by National Merit Scholarship Corporation. 

Roland A. Dewgard of Neuqua Valley High School was awarded a $2,500 National Achievement scholarship supported by NMSC. Dewgard, a Naperville native, plans to study mechanical engineering.

Sydney C. Gathe of Neuqua Valley High School was awarded a National Achievement scholarship supported by R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company. Gathe, a Naperville native, plans to study computer engineering.  

Anthony Itambo of Waubonsie Valley High School was awarded a National Achievement scholarship supported by Motorola Solutions. Itambo, a Naperville native, plans to study chemical engineering.  

Avery J. Stephenson of Neuqua Valley High School was awarded an Honorary Achievement scholarship. Stephenson, of Plainfield, plans to study computer science.
