A 19-year-old from Naperville has been charged with selling 49 bags of heroin to an undercover police officer in a parking lot in the city.

Amari D. Hill, 19, 1500 block of West Jefferson Street, has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a class one felony. He was transferred to the DuPage County jail and has since been released on bond.

Hill was arrested on March 18, after selling an undercover detective heroin in a parking lot near Ogden Avenue and Jefferson Avenue. The heroin had a total weight of approximately 28 grams with a street value of $1,000.

In early February 2014, members of the Naperville Police Department Special Operations Group received information that a man was dealing large quantities of heroin from an apartment complex on West Jefferson Avenue. Officcers subsequently identified Hill as the suspected source of illegal heroin distribution and initiated an undercover investigation, police said.

During the course of the investigation, multiple purchases of heroin were made from Hill and it was later determined he was transporting heroin from the west side of Chicago to the Naperville area, according to police.
