Girls Soccer: Metea Valley’s Pat Feulner to leave long-lasting legacy

Metea Valley girls soccer coach Pat Feulner, who started the program from scratch, is retiring at the end of the season after 35 years of teaching and coaching.

The first chapter of the history of the Metea Valley girls soccer program also is the last of Pat Feulner’s prep coaching career.

The final pages of their shared narrative are being written this spring as Feulner, who started the program from scratch, is retiring at the end of the season after 35 years of teaching and coaching.

WW South sophomore Anna Fank scored 18 seconds into overtime to lift the host Tigers to a dramatic 2-1 DuPage Valley victory Monday night over Naperville Central at Red Grange Field in Wheaton.

Naperville Central had a fast start.

Baseball: Web gem saves Waubonsie Valley in win

Luke Marzano and Drew Ellam each homered as Waubonsie Valley held off St. Charles East 6-4 thanks to some heads-up defense.

Waubonsie Valley coach Dan Fezzuoglio watched his team and St. Charles East kick around the baseball for three-plus innings Monday.

So it only follows baseball logic that a Warriors web gem would save the day.
