Police Blotter: 2 people involved in sexual acts in Naperville park

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, April 18

Theft: Between 5 p.m. April 17 and 5 a.m., floor covering stolen from work site on 4600 block of Corktree Road.

Shoplifting: About 12:17 p.m., unidentified male or female issued city of Naperville ticket for retail theft, for stealing $10 worth of merchandise from Goodwill Industries, 539 Fort Hill Drive.

Theft: Sometime between April 8 and 12:48 p.m. today, rear license plate stolen from broken-down company vehicle parked at rear of unidentified business on 1800 block of High Grove Lane.

Theft: Between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., pair of hoop earrings stolen on 200 block of South Main Street.

Seat belt violation: Paul A. Myzia, 21, Lisle; 3:10 p.m. near Chicago Avenue and Brainard Street; charged with failure to wear a seat belt; also taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrant.

Public indecency: About 3:43 p.m., two males or females “were involved in movements that were observed and reported to be sexual in nature” in unidentified park near Hobson Road and Naper Bouelvard; “no clothing removed from either subject;” report provided no further information.

Theft: A 23-year-old woman reported between 8:10 a.m. April 17 and 4 p.m. today, catalytic converter stolen from vehicle parked in lot of Metra Railway Fourth Avenue commuter train station, 105 E. Fourth Ave.

Unlicensed driver: Victor H. Luna, 24, Aurora; 5:15 p.m. near Jimmy’s Grill, 245 S. Washington St.; charged with driving without a license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions and driving without insurance.

Suspicious incident: A 15-year-old girl reported between 9:30 a.m. and 6:28 p.m., she heard knocking on her bedroom window and then saw unknown male in backyard of home on 2200 block of Weatherford Lane.

Theft: A 53-year-old man reported sometime before 6:30 p.m., Naperville Central High School “Wrestling Boosters” sign stolen from front lawn of home on 800 block of Canyon Run Road.

Battery: About 6:51 p.m., “multiple juveniles involved in altercation, where victims were threatened with a knife,” on 400 block of East Bailey Road; report provided no further information.

Suspicious incident: About 11:34 p.m., two or three males observed smoking marijuana in stairwell of apartment complex on 700 block of Inland Circle; all three were gone by time police arrived on scene.

Saturday, April 19

Theft: A 31-year-old-man reported between 11:16 p.m. April 18 and 12:01 a.m., wallet stolen from secured locker in men’s locker room at XSport Fitness, 2780 Fitness Drive.

Unlicensed driver: Juan C. Garcia, 31, Aurora; 12:09 a.m. near Seasons Hospice & Pallative Care, 2195 W. Diehl Road; charged with driving without a license and disobeying a traffic control device.

Driving under the influence: Susanne J. Welsh, 55, 600 block of Windham Lane; 1:04 a.m. near Windham Lane and Columbia Street; charged with DUI, driving in wrong lane of traffic, driving without insurance and making improper turn at intersection.

Street racing: Christian D. Legasto, 24, 3000 block of Bluestem Court; 1:17 a.m. near 75th Street and Modaff Road; charged with street racing, driving 26-35 mph over posted speed limit, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without insurance, disobeying a stop sign and driving with a broken rear license plate light.

Excessive speeding: Richard M. Kaplan, 29, 1300 block of Modaff Road; 1:22 a.m. near 75th Street and Modaff Road; charged with driving 26-35 mph over posted speed limit, possession of marijuana and disobeying a stop sign.

DUI: Nicholas J. Giannini, 23, Lisle; 1:26 a.m. on 1000 block of Stone Court; charged with DUI, criminal trespass to land/refusing to leave, public urination, interfering with police and disorderly conduct/breach of peace.
