The Downtown Naperville Alliance will have special incentives in store for employees of Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie District 204 Thursday, during its annual night out for people who work in the two school systems and their families.
Rain or shine, staff members will be offered VIP treatment beginning at 3 p.m. for District 203 visitors, and at 4 p.m. for those from Indian Prairie. The special promotion will continue until 8 p.m.
Teachers and other staff members will need to check in, using their district identification, when they arrive at the Main Street Promenade, 55 S. Main St., outside Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House. The first 50 arrivals from each of the districts will receive $10 gift cards redeemable at more than 150 shops and restaurants in the downtown retail district. The first 125 to arrive will be given additional gifts as well.
From reduced studio fees at Pottery Bayou and 30 percent discounts at Haagen Dazs/Popcorn Palace to dinner discounts at more than a dozen downtown eateries and a free scarf with a modest purchase at the WAR Chest Boutique, bargains will abound from several dozen participating businesses.
The yearly event is put on for local educators “to recognize them for another great year teaching our area children,” DNA Executive Director Katie Wood said in an email.
Those planning to head downtown for the festivities are asked to register by Wednesday, by providing their names and the number attending in an email bearing the subject line “school night” and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
