Police Blotter: Man charged with battery for punching victim

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, April 25

Theft: A 31-year-old woman reported sometime between April 12 and today, U.S. Postal Service delivered envelope to her home on 800 block of Springhill Circle; envelope was found opened, with compact disc/digital video disc containing her and her husband’s personal information missing.

Sunday, April 27

Special police patrol: A 72-year-old man requested extra police patrolling of 200 block of West Van Buren Avenue, where at least two vacant houses are scheduled for demolition; “No Trespassing” signs are posted on homes, but “there have been several instances where it appears unknown subjects have entered the buildings without permission.”

Fighting: Bradley J. Kristensen, 26, Tinley Park; 1:22 a.m. at Rizzo’s, 6 W. Jefferson Ave.; charged with fighting.

Aggravated assault: Jingyu Zhang, 19, 1800 block of Michigan Avenue; 1:31 a.m. at home; charged with aggravated assault and resisting a peace officer.

Marijuana possession: Nicholas J. O’Neill, 24, 900 block of North Brainard Street; Adam G. Gascon, 24, Lisle; and Bradley J. Taylor, 25, Warrenville; 3:58 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Brainard Street; all charged with possession of marijuana; Taylor also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without having license in possession and failure to wear a seat belt.

Property damage: A 71-year-old man reported between 10 p.m. April 26 and 5 a.m., mailbox knocked over outside home on 700 block of East Gartner Road.

Shoplifting: About 5:37 p.m., unidentified male or female issued city of Naperville ticket for retail theft, after stealing flashlight from Menards, 715 Fort Hill Drive.

No insurance: About 6:21 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, following traffic crash between Toyota Sienna and Dodge Caravan near Three Farms Road and Fort Hill Drive.

Suspended license: Johniece Jones, 23, 0-99 block of Olympus Drive; 9 p.m. near Fifth Avenue and Washington Street; charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving with an expired registration.

Monday, April 28

Property damage: Between 9 p.m. April 27 and 9 a.m., unknown object hurled and damaged window on west side of building on 0-99 block of North Webster Street; other window pane intact, and no entry gained to building.

Vehicle damage: A 24-year-old man reported between 4 a.m. and 2:06 p.m., sharp object used to make total of three large marks in finish of driver-side and trunk door of vehicle parked on 0-99 block of Testa Drive.

Battery: Michael C. Wardisiani, 44, hometown not provided; 4:19 p.m. on 300 block of Tamarack Avenue; charged with battery of 43-year-old man, “after punching the victim in the head multiple times.”

Suspended license: Arturo Solis, 23, hometown not provided; 4:26 p.m. following two-vehicle traffic crash near Ogden and Iroquois avenues; charged with driving with a suspended license; also taken into custody on arrest warrant.

Warrant: Michael L. Maciejewski, 27, hometown not provided; 7:59 p.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; taken into custody on arrest warrant.

Unlicensed driver: About 9:08 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without a license on 4000 block of South Route 59.

Revoked license: Odilon A. Vera, 33, hometown not provided; 10:21 p.m. near 75th Street and Naper Boulevard; charged with driving with a revoked license and driving without insurance.
