Police Blotter: 4-vehicle traffic crash at Quincy and Ogden avenues

Tuesday, April 29

Traffic crash: About 7:07 a.m., four-vehicle traffic crash occurred at Quincy and Ogden avenues; unidentified driver of second vehicle taken by ambulance to Edward Hospital in Naperville for evaluation; unidentified driver of first vehicle charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.

Construction zone speeding: Yuan Li, 31, Aurora; 7:17 a.m. near North Aurora Road and Tudor Drive; charged with excessive speeding in construction zone and driving with a suspended license.

Property damage: Sometime before 11:40 a.m., unidentified projectile fired and damaged entrance door at Madison Junior High School, 1000 River Oak Drive.

Theft: Eileen M. Dieball, 41, Plainfield; 12:52 p.m. at unidentified business on 600 block of East Diehl Road; charged with theft.

Shoplifting: Between 12:55 and 1:01 p.m., unidentified male took eight packages of razor blades with total retail value of $92.69 from shelves at Walgreens, 688 Amersale Drive, put them in coat pockets, and left store without paying for them; employees told police same man had been in store before, and is suspected of stealing merchandise during those visits; shoplifter’s image captured by store video surveillance cameras; thief described as being black male, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with medium build and short, black hair, and wearing eyeglasses, brown coat, white shirt, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.

Illegal drug acquisition: Mark L. Satkowski, 30, Burbank; 3:33 p.m. at DuPage Medical Group, 1020 E. Ogden Ave.; charged with unlawful acquisition of controlled substance.

Shoplifting: Yareli Cruz, 20, Aurora; 4:25 p.m. at Gordmans, 2639 Aurora Ave.; charged with retail theft.

Drug paraphernalia possession: Nicholas R. Gray, 18, 500 block of Carriage Hill Road; Andrew R. Murray, 18, 300 block of Osage Lane; and Jonathon D. O’Connor, 18, 1400 block of Lark Lane; 4:56 p.m. near Waxwing Avenue and Lark Lane; all three charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; Murray and O’Connor also charged with possession of marijuana; O’Connor additionally charged with two counts disobeying a traffic control device.

Theft: A 41-year-old woman reported sometime before 7:04 p.m., red pouch purse containing iPhone 4S stolen from unlocked cubicle inside cardiovascular room of Fry Family YMCA of Metro Chicago, 2120 W. 95th St.

Fighting: About 7:28 p.m., unidentified male got into argument with girlfriend’s parents about him moving out of their home on 100 block of School Street; “the girlfriend’s father battered the boyfriend who, in turn, punched the father in the face;” both charged with fighting.

Marijuana possession: Affan A. Qureshi, 20, 100 block of Olesen Drive; and Sean P. Whaties, 18, Aurora; 10:56 p.m. on 0-99 block of Olesen Drive; both charged with possession of marijuana; Qureshi also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession or sale of fireworks.

Revoked license: About 11:54 p.m., unidentified motorist “stopped for suspicious activity” on 1100 block of East Ogden Avenue; charged with driving with a revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, April 30

Drug paraphernalia possession: Romano M. Ochoa, 34, Woodridge; 12:01 a.m. on 1100 block of East Ogden Avenue; charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

Suspended license: Miguel A. Rodriguez, 26, 700 block of Inland Circle; 12:01 a.m. near McDowell Road and Raymond Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license; also taken into custody on arrest warrant.

Suspended license: Thomas A. Loiacono, 23, Wheaton; 1:55 a.m. near Country Inn & Suites, 1837 Centre Point Circle; charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.

Traffic crash: About 11:02 a.m., unidentified motorist or passenger taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville, following two-vehicle traffic crash near 87th Street and Book Road; unidentified driver charged with disobeying a traffic signal.

Property damage: Between April 29 and 12:15 p.m., trespassing and property damage reported on 5300 block of Bamboo Lane; report provided no further information.

Shoplifting: Between 11:57 a.m. and 1:24 p.m., unidentified shoplifter stole unspecified merchandise from Buy Buy Baby, 324 S. Route 59.

Vehicle burglary: An 18-year-old man reported between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., black backpack containing Apple Mac Pro laptop computer stolen from unlocked vehicle parked on 200 block of South Washington Street.

Unlicensed driver: Maria L. Heredia-Pina, 39, Lisle; 6:07 p.m. near Benton Avenue and Washington Street; charged with driving without a license.

Suspended license: Michael P. Gutierrez, 25, Warrenville; 10:06 p.m. near Westings Avenue and Route 59; charged with driving with a suspended license.
