Magic

Background: Magic was born to an outside mom and rescued with his three brothers at 5 weeks old. He has been in foster care since. He is a beautiful, large, all black kitty, with gold eyes.

Personality: Magic is a pretty laid back guy. He likes to lay on the top perch of the kitty tree with his legs dangling over the side, waiting for snuggles. He also likes to try and trip his foster mom by rubbing on her legs while she is walking.

Adoption fee: $100

Jax

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Lab mix

Background: He was transferred from Felines and Canines.

Personality: Jax is a sweet, strong boy who knows how to sit, lay, stay and roll over. He is working on his loose leash training and is very “food motivated!” He is a high energy, lovable dog, but at times he may be shy when seeing new people. He is a dog who likes to explore his surroundings, and he gets along with some dogs.

Adoption fee: $250

Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.

Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Zoey

Age: 5 1/2 years old

Breed: Retriever, greyhound mix

Background: Zoey was surrendered to NAHS because her owners were moving.

Personality: Zoey is a dog with a lot of energy looking for an active and outgoing family. Zoey may be able to live with another dog, although she can be a bit picky about her canine friends. She cannot live with cats. Because Zoey can get jumpy and mouthy when excited, children in her new home should be about 12 years and older.

Adoption fee: $200

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road in Naperville, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Bea

Age: 7 years old

Breed: Rat terrier mix

Background: After her owner died, an uncaring relative locked up Bea and 18 other dogs in a room and rarely fed them. Bea developed a skin allergy from the poor treatment, but fortunately, that’s clearing up with good food and care.

Personality: While this dainty, little 12-pound darling gets along great with people, she especially likes women. She’s a sweet and easy-going girl and readily settles down on a soft blanket for a nap. Bea gets a little unsettled when she thinks she’s being abandoned again, so someone who’s home most of the day would be ideal for her.

Other: Bea is spayed, house trained and up-to-date with her vaccinations; microchipping is included.

Adoption fee: $200

Where to find the pet: RoverRescue.org or call 630-897-7454

Phoenix

Age: 10 months old

Breed: Domestic short hair

Background: He was surrendered to NAHS because of new dog.

Personality: Phoenix is a playful, gentle, mellow, shy and talkative cat. He may be able to live with another friendly cat but no dogs. Because of his shy nature, it would be best if children are a bit older.

Adoption fee: $25

Other: All animals at NAHS have been examined for health and temperament, are up-to-date on vaccines and have been microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption.

Where to find this pet: Naperville Area Humane Society, 1620 W. Diehl Road, Naperville, or www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.
