Police Blotter: 15-year-old driver hits vehicle

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Thursday, May 22

Warrant: About 6:22 a.m., unidentified man or woman taken into custody on 800 block of South Washington Street on DuPage County arrest warrant.

Hit and run: A 28-year-old man reported between 9 p.m. May 21 and 6:23 a.m., vehicle struck and damaged blue, GMC Envoy truck parked in lot of apartment complex on 1400 block of Fairway Drive; police located suspected hit and run vehicle parked several buildings away; motorist, when confronted, said he “took car for driving practice while mom was at work and hit truck, not telling mom until he could find a good excuse” for the damage; motorist charged with leaving scene of accident involving vehicle damage and driving without insurance.

Unlicensed driver: About 4:24 p.m., vehicle being driven by 15-year-old struck vehicle stopped in traffic near Martin Avenue and West Street; teen charged with driving without a license.

Warrant: Jesse W. Underwood, 33, 700 block of Inland Circle; 4:26 p.m. at home; taken into custody on $7,500 arrest warrant.

Theft: A 20-year-old woman reported between 6:45 and 7:06 p.m., bicycle stolen on 2700 block of Pennyroyal Circle.

Suspended license: Julian A. Reliford, 30, Woodridge; 7:16 p.m. near Platinum Avenue and Route 59; charged with driving with a suspended license, after his vehicle was struck by another in stop-and-go traffic; report did not indicate whether charges filed or tickets issued to unidentified, other motorist.

Battery: A 10-year-old boy reported about 8:05 p.m., he was battered on 700 block of Wildflower Circle; report provided no further information.
