Riverwalk Community Center work to begin Monday

The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, which currently hosts a variety of Naperville Park District programs, will be undergoing required exterior maintenance beginning Monday.

Contractors will repair cracks in its exterior finish, add a new layer of stone cladding at the base of the building, and apply a new coat of paint.

When the project is complete, the building will have a new exterior insulation and finishing system as well.

As the project proceeds, a portion of the north parking lot will be closed for construction staging, but parking spaces will continue to be available for patrons. At times the west, north, or south entrances may be closed when contractors are working in that area. The building will remain open all summer with regularly scheduled programs continuing as usual.

The exterior work is expected to be complete by the end of August.
