These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Sunday, June 1

Theft: A 23-year-old resident of the 700 block of Sherwood Court called police about 2:42 p.m., to report having sent $862 MoneyGram in response to advertisement on Craigslist; seller promised her four tickets to Sunday’s Game 7 of Chicago Blackhawks/Los Angeles Kings playoff hockey game; “tickets were never sent, and the person selling the tickets is no longer answering their phone.”

Monday, June 2

Vehicle damage: A 45-year-old man reported between 9:30 p.m. June 1 and 5:40 a.m., vehicle damaged while parked outside home on 100 block of Sylvia Lane.

Vehicle damage: A 50-year-old woman reported between 10 p.m. June 1 and 6:30 a.m., small pocketknife or similar tool or weapon used to puncture and flatten rear, driver-side tire of Nissan Murano parked in lot on 800 block of Corday Drive, on campus of AMLI at Naperville Apartments.

Vehicle damage: A 31-year-old woman reported between 10 p.m. June 1 and 6:39 a.m., unidentifiable black, oil-based substance dumped on her car and that of neighbor, both parked outside homes on 200 block of Hampshire Court.

Property damage: A 41-year-old woman reported between 9 p.m. June 1 and 7:15 a.m., property damage occurred on 2000 block of Shady Grove Court; report provided no further information.

Vehicle damage: A 51-year-old woman reported between 5 p.m. June 1 and 8 a.m., scratch etched into finish of driver-side doors of vehicle parked on street outside home on 2200 block of Petworth Court.

Property damage: About 9:59 a.m., maintenance worker at Brookdale Elementary School, 1200 Redfield Road, reported finding three trees and several handrail brackets on playground that had been damaged.

Shoplifting: Duffy L. Shew, 59, Aurora; 10:45 a.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with retail theft.

Suspicious incident: A 47-year-old resident of The Ponds at Naperville, 1333 Modaff Road, reported about 11:17 a.m., intruder or intruders “attempted to use a key to gain entry into (her) residence, (then) left and came back doing the same thing;” woman said she believed person or people “may have had the wrong apartment.”

No insurance: About 1:05 p.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, following two-car traffic crash at Ogden Avenue and North Aurora Road; no injuries reported.

Disorderly conduct: A 21-year-old woman reported about 2 p.m., unidentified, elderly white man harassed her inside Starbucks, 42 W. Jefferson Ave.

Property damage: A 45-year-old man reported between 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., garage door damaged after being forced open at home on 4700 block of Snapjack Circle.

Warrant: James M. Barnett, 18, hometown not provided; 10:37 p.m. near Main Street Promenade, 55 S. Main St.; taken into custody on arrest warrant.

Theft: A 63-year-old man reported sometime between June 1 and today, Weber charcoal grill stolen from rear patio of home on 2500 block of Dewes Lane.
