Police Blotter: West Point Class of ’77 ring stolen in vehicle burglary

Wednesday, June 4

Property damage: A 78-year-old woman reported that, at time unknown to her, three wooden slats damaged on fence outside home on 600 block of South Loomis Street.

Thursday, June 5

Vehicle burglary: A 28-year-old man reported between 6:15 p.m. June 4 and 6:15 a.m., in-dashboard radio stolen from vehicle parked in lot of apartment complex on 1000 block of Heritage Hill Drive.

Friday, June 6

Vehicle burglary: A 38-year-old man reported between 10:30 p.m. June 5 and 6 a.m., yellow gold, West Point Class of 1977 ring stolen from 2008 Audi parked outside home on 1100 block of Cresthaven Lane.

Trespassing: About 7:04 a.m., 31-year-old man charged with trespassing at home on 2800 block of Cantore Road; man then taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville for psychiatric evaluation.

Marijuana possession: About 10:48 a.m., manager of property on 500 block of Kiowa Drive reported white Volkswagen parked in lot with four unidentified males or females inside and smoking marijuana; police found marijuana and open alcohol inside vehicle; report did not indicate whether arrests made or tickets issued.

Driving too fast: About 10:51 a.m., three-vehicle traffic crash occurred at Chicago Avenue and Washington Street; unidentified motorist charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions.

No insurance: About 11:19 a.m., unidentified motorist charged with driving without insurance, following two-vehicle, rear-end traffic crash near Jefferson and Ogden avenues.

Suspicious incident: About 4:30 p.m., police investigated “solicitor complaint/suspicious subjects” on 2900 block of 83rd Street.

Shoplifting: Sunitha Reddy, 57, Aurora; 5:14 p.m. at unidentified business on 200 block of South Main Street; charged with retail theft.

Marijuana possession: Alejandro Chavez, 19, Aurora; 6:46 p.m., after his vehicle sideswiped another on 600 block of Amersale Drive; charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane use.

Neighbor dispute: About 6:48 p.m., police investigated argument between neighbors involved in civil matter on 100 block of Testa Drive; report provided no further information.

Suspended license: Mohammed Z. Siddiqui, 20, 3400 block of White Eagle Drive; 9:37 p.m. near 95th Street and Cheyenne Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license and driving with an expired registration.

Property damage: A 22-year-old woman reported about 9:39 p.m., patio window was shattered on home on 400 block of East Bailey Road.

No insurance: About 9:40 p.m., unidentified motorist made left turn in front of other vehicle, causing crash at 75th Street and Rickert Drive; at-fault motorist charged with driving without insurance.

Neighbor dispute: About 10:11 p.m., police investigated quarrel “and alleged physical altercation” involving neighbors on 100 block of South Whispering Hills Drive; report provided no further information.

Property damage: About 10:27 p.m., unspecified property damage reported near Chicago Avenue and Washington Street, following unspecified “disorderly conduct” there.

Property damage: A 49-year-old woman reported sometime before 11:42 p.m., lock damaged on sliding glass door of home on 2100 block of Fulham Drive.

Saturday, June 7

Marijuana possession: Griffin A. Pennekamp, 18, Bolingbrook; 12:40 a.m. during traffic stop near 104th Avenue and Lawrence Drive; charged with possession of marijuana.

Suspicious incident: About 12:40 a.m., police called to 1400 block of Crystal Avenue to investigate report of people at nearby pond; upon arrival of police, unspecified number of males or females “ran through thick brush, a creek and another thick brush, leaving behind fishing poles, chairs and alcoholic beverages;” property collected by police and placed in evidence storage room.
