Reward posted in Naperville golf course crimes

Naperville police on Thursday appealed to the public for help in finding those responsible for breaking into a pump house, stealing a cart and doing considerable damage to the greens and fairways of the golf course in the White Eagle Club community on the city’s far southwest side.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible for the burglary and property damage that occurred there, according to Naperville Crime Stoppers release.

The crimes occurred sometime between 5 p.m. June 6 and 7 a.m. Saturday, the release stated. That was when the door to the pump house near the 11th green was forced open, and a maintenance golf cart and four Motorola portable radios were stolen, the release read.

Police said the cart “contained assorted maintenance material that was recovered on the far south side of the golf course,” although the cart remained missing, the released stated.

The cart was found Sunday on the north end of the course. Unspecified damage “was discovered on numerous golf holes on the blue course to the fairways and greens, and nine flag sticks and nine, 150-yard markers were damaged,” according to the release.

Witnesses to the burglary or vandalism, or those who believe they have information about the case, are asked to call Naperville Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. Callers can remain anonymous.
