AURORA — The classic rock band Boston will play Aurora’s RiverEdge Park this summer, officials announced early Sunday.
Boston will perform at RiverEdge Park in downtown Aurora Sunday, August 10. The park will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert is slated to begin at 8 p.m.
With more than 31 million albums sold and growing, Boston promises to be a must-see show, said Jim Jarvis, Aurora Civic Center Authority Vice President of Marketing and Sales. The Aurora Civic Center Authority operates the park.
“It’s Boston. What more is there to say? They are one of the greatest classic rock bands ever,” Jarvis said. “This is going to be a straight out rockin’ night of music.”
Boston is known for hits like “Smokin’,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Band” and “Peace of Mind.”
Mayor Tom Weisner first hinted that a “killer classic rock band” would play RiverEdge Park at the State of the City address in May.
“We are bound by contract not to mention this group’s name until early summer,” Weisner said at the time.
RiverEdge launched a pre-sale Sunday morning to e-list subscribers. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Tickets are $35.
