A Naperville native and an award-winning Chicago fashion designer are among the 18 contestants to compete in this season of “Project Runway.”
Naperville native Kristine Guico, 26, started sewing classes when she was 11 years old. The Fashion Institute of Technology grad has called Brooklyn home for the last five years.
For years, her mother had been telling her to go on the show. Guico finally listened to Mom and went to an open casting call
Alexander Knox, a stylist at Bucktown’s Scotch & Soda, also tried out for the show after one of his professors at Columbia College in Chicago forwarded him an application.
Guico and Knox will be competing for the $100,000 prize as they and their fellow contestants come up with creations designed to impress Klum and fellow judges Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and mentor Tim Gunn.Fashion, tv
