Police Blotter: Feces-throwing juveniles target Naperville home

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Monday, June 23

No insurance: Oswald Gallegos-Gallegos, 41, hometown not provided; 12:31 a.m. near White Eagle Drive and Route 59; charged with driving without insurance.

Property damage: A 74-year-old woman reported sometime between June 20 and 8:30 a.m. today, flower pot was shattered in parking lot of unidentified business on 0-99 block of South Naper Boulevard.

Theft: A 32-year-old woman reported between 5 p.m. June 22 and 9 a.m., front and rear license plates stolen from white, 2008 Dodge Caliber parked outside home on 1300 block of Crab Apple Court.

Vehicle burglary: A 55-year-old woman reported between 12:30 and 9 a.m., iPad and iPhone stolen from inside vehicle parked outside home on 2300 block of Overlook Court.

Bicycle vs. vehicle: About 12:31 p.m., 8-year-old child riding bicycle drove into rear of vehicle on 4500 block of Pipestone Court; report provided no further information.

DUI: Kevin R. Sipes, 49, hometown not provided; 2:48 p.m. on 800 block of Beaumont Drive; charged with DUI.

Juvenile nuisance: A 48-year-old man reported about 6:48 p.m., three unidentified males threw raw eggs and feces at residence on 600 block of North Eagle Street.

Vehicle vs. bicycle: About 6:54 p.m., unidentified motorist’s vehicle struck 16-year-old girl riding bicycle in crosswalk at Emerald Drive and West Street; report provided no further information.

Vehicle damage: A 17-year-old boy reported between 9:43 and 10:06 p.m., unidentified object thrown at vehicle near Conan Doyle and Book roads.

Battery: A 55-year-old man reported about 10:30 p.m., unidentified male punched him in the chest on 4800 block of Clearwater Lane, “after altercation about victim walking his dog at night.”

Tuesday, June 24

Suspicious incident: A resident of the 300 block of Pearson Circle reported between 6 p.m. June 20 and 7 a.m. today, front door to home might have been pried and damaged.

Vehicle vs. building: About 12:02 p.m., 16-year-old motorist mistakenly pressed gas pedal instead of brake while attempting to park in lot of Country Curtains, 233 S. Main St.; vehicle drove over parking block and hit front window of store, damaging window and frame; no injuries reported; no tickets issued, as crash occurred on private property.

Theft: About 2:18 p.m., security worker stopped two women ages 65 and 67 at Menards, 715 Fort Hill Drive, “for stealing plastic straws;” report did not indicate whether women were arrested or ticketed.

Burglary: A 38-year-old woman reported between 9 a.m. and 5:47 p.m., attempt made to burglarize her apartment at River Run at Naperville, 1100 Preserve Ave.

Battery: Frank R. Sasek, 22, LaGrange; 5:52 p.m. at the Naperville police station, 1350 Aurora Ave.; charged with battery causing bodily harm.

No insurance: Joaquin Velazquez-Ventura, 40, Aurora; 10:42 p.m. near 111th Street and Route 59; charged with driving without insurance.

Theft: At unspecified time, 15-year-old resident of 0-99 block of Olympus Drive reported he had found his bicycle, which was stolen seven days earlier.
