O.A.R. among music acts announced for Naperville’s Last Fling

The Naperville Jaycees have announced the musical acts for Last Fling, the annual end of summer festival in Naperville.

On Aug. 29, ARRA and Maggie Speaks will be the Main Stage acts.

Maggie Speaks, a popular cover band in the Chicago area, will be the opening act, followed by ARRA.

Band members for ARRA include Ron Platt, Kevin Conner, Jim Zahrobsky, Steve Latka, Kevin Kreis and Rob Weisman, who will perform a variety of music.

O.A.R., with opening acts Josh Holmes and Junkyard Groove, will perform Aug. 30 at Last Fling.

Indiana native Josh Holmes and his band perform guitar-driven rock and roll. Junkyard Groove consists of members Jason Sturmon, Jay Moynihan, Roberto Agosto, Roger Femali, and Mike Aquino. They play a variety of rock, funk, blues and country cover tunes. Junkyard Groove has opened for such artists as Joan Jett, Huey Lewis and the News, Steve Miller Band and Sammy Hagar.

Of A Revolution, aka O.A.R., was founded in 1996. They are best known for 2005’s “Love and Memories” as well as the No. 1 song “Shattered” from their 2008 album titled “All Sides.” The band just released its eighth work, “THE ROCKVILLE LP,” which pays tribute to their roots.

The Last Fling Main Stage will be located at the base of Rotary Hill. The music on Aug. 29 will begin at 6 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 and include a $5 beverage ticket voucher. Main Stage entertainment tickets will be available for purchase online and at local ticket sale locations the week of June 30.

Music on Aug. 30 will begin at 4 p.m. Main Stage entertainment tickets for Saturday night are $20 each and will be available for purchase online and at local ticket sale locations the week of June 30.
