Editor’s note: The Sun, with the help of the Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club, is featuring each month a recent Naperville transplant or a resident who has had a significant life change. Let’s get to know our neighbors!

Cami Plummer, 48, was born in Alabama, but she’s lived all over the United States. She has called Atlanta, Nashville and Oak Park home. And she has a vacation home in Punta Gorda, Florida. She came to the area for her husband’s job as president of StormTrap in Morris.

How did you find out about the Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club?

“We had been living here only a few weeks when a lady at the gym told me about this wonderful group of ladies who were members of NNNC. I quickly signed up, and then a lady in our subdivision asked if she could take me to the opening coffee. She had seen my name in the newsletter as a new member. How kind!”

What are your favorite activities in the club?

“I love this club because there are activities for everyone. I thoroughly enjoy the lunch group I co-chair with Jean Faulhaber. The ladies truly care about what is going on in each other’s lives. I have attended several book club events, and I love the monthly large group luncheons. I always meet new people and enjoy seeing friends.”

Do you work outside the home?

“I am going to start working part time with IOR Global as a destination services consultant assisting families from around the world with their move to Naperville. I can’t wait to introduce them to our wonderful city!”

What are your favorite things to do in Naperville?

“Out of all of the places I have lived, Naperville is by far my favorite! I tell my husband all of the time, “I love living in Mayberry!” There is so much to do, walking on the Riverwalk, the June wine walk downtown, taking the family to Centennial Beach in the summer, sitting outside at Hugo’s Frog Bar on a beautiful summer day. There is something for everyone in Naperville.”

The Naperville Newcomers and Neighbors Club holds a welcome coffee once a month from September through June at the Municipal Center. Contact Sue at 630-904-5629 to learn more.
