Tuesday, July 1

Theft: Between 11:59 p.m. June 27 and 2 p.m. today, catalytic converter cut off and stolen from green, 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier parked on 1800 block of South Washington Street.

Thursday, July 3

Ordinance violation: About 8:20 a.m., unidentified owner of home on 1600 block of Hinterlong Lane received city of Naperville ordinance violation, for having overgrown plants and weeds on property.

Theft: Between 1 and 2 p.m., wallet stolen from purse left hanging on back of chair inside unidentified business on 1900 block of West Jefferson Avenue.

Warrant: Richard G. Ridgedell, 36, hometown not provided; 6:15 p.m. on Ribfest grounds, 724 S. West St.; taken into custody on arrest warrant.

Hit and run: About 10:12 p.m., five-vehicle traffic crash occurred near Chicago Avenue and Washington Street; hit and run vehicle described as being possibly silver-colored sport utility vehicle with front end damage; no injuries reported.

Suspended license: About 10:30 p.m., police performed well-being check on unidentified male or female inside parked vehicle on 1500 block of North Naper Boulevard; motorist found to be well, but charged with driving with a suspended license and illegal possession or transportation of alcohol.

Arson: Sometime before 10:37 p.m., Septran school bus set afire while parked on 2900 block of Rutland Circle.

Friday, July 4

Theft: Steven A. Cincotti, 26, Lisle; 12:01 a.m. near Hillside Road and West Street, near Ribfest grounds; charged with theft of more than $500 by unauthorized control over another, criminal trespass to land and disorderly conduct/breach of peace.

Driving under the influence: Steven S. McDaniel, 45, Plainfield; 12:13 a.m. near Meridian Lakes Drive and Route 59, Aurora; charged with two counts DUI and one count each excessive speeding in construction zone, using cell phone in school or construction zone and improper lane use.

Suspended license: Kylie M. Willyard, 24, Yorkville; 12:13 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Benedetti Drive; charged with driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and unlawful use of cell phone while operating motor vehicle.

DUI: Ashley M. Cahill, 24, Prairie Grove; 12:46 a.m. near Seventh Avenue and Washington Street; charged with two counts DUI and one count speeding.

DUI: Robert T. Vodicka-Hirshmann, 19, Aurora; 1:04 a.m. near Aurora Avenue and Birchwood Drive; charged with two counts DUI and one count each possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession or transportation of alcohol, consumption of alcohol by minor and squealing or screeching tires on vehicle.

Warrant: Eraster T. Smith, 34, Chicago; 12:02 p.m. on Ribfest grounds, 724 S. West St.; taken into custody on arrest warrant for assault in Chicago.

Shoplifting: Vidmantas Gaikstas, 41, Darien; 3:02 p.m. at Menards, 715 Fort Hill Drive; charged with retail theft.

Drug paraphernalia possession: Shannon L. Fierke, 18, 5300 block of Coneflower Drive; 9:45 p.m. near Hazelwood and Emerald drives; charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane use.

Marijuana possession: Jacque L. Hoffman, 56, 300 block of Martin Avenue; 10:31 p.m. at The White Tavern, 423 E. Ogden Ave.; charged with possession of marijuana.
