Minor League Baseball: Cougars’ offense explodes in rout of Quad Cities

Recap: Kane County scored three runs in each of the first and sixth innings and added two runs in the fourth and another in the seventh to outslug Quad Cities. Ben Carhart (three RBI) and Jemier Canderlario (homer, two doubles, four RBI) each had three hits for the Cougars, while Jacob Hannemann (double, RBI) and Carlos Penalver (two runs) added two hits. The Cougars, who had 12 hits, won despite giving up 15 hits.

Records: 59-30 overall, 14-5 in the second half.
