Not again: ‘Polar vortex’ may return to Chicago-area next week

Six months and about a hundred degrees after the ‘polar vortex’ froze the toes off Chicago, the area might be in for another super-cool.

But not of the same magnitude. The July cool will  drop temperatures far below monthly averages, likely into the low 50s near the city and low 40s in the suburbs.

That’s chilly for sunbathing, but you’ll keep your digits.
