Learn about library: “Ready, Set, Go!” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Lisle Library, 777 Front St., Lisle, will offer children, parents, adults and businesses a sampling of the library’s online educational and job-related resources, and other library services for students of all ages.
“We get a lot of people attending each year who want to enhance their education or career,” said Tatiana Weinstein, director of adult services. “People changing fields or who need help with their job search will especially benefit from demonstrations of our online resources such as Job and Career Accelerator.”
Representatives from Midwestern Career College, Universal Technical Institute, National Louis University, College Bound Funding Solutions, WorkNet DuPage and more will be in attendance. There will also be information available from different military service branches.
Local businesses will provide prizes for the event, which also kicks off the library’s plans for National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September. There are over 40 local businesses participating in the sixth annual “I Love My Lisle Library Card” program, where patrons can get discounts or free items/services by showing their Lisle Library card during the month of September. A representative from the library’s circulation services department will be on hand during “Ready, Set, Go!” to provide information about the upcoming program.
