Before our sports staff heads back to the sidelines, we have one final episode of “The Home Stretch” for the summer. Hosted by “Naperville Sports Weekly’s” Justin Zipser, “The Home Stretch” is a 30-minute show that features in-depth stories about all things sports.
At 7 p.m. tonight, watch as sports reporter Zach Groth rides over to Trillion Equestrian for a closer look at the sport of horseback riding.
Then learn about the new IHSA concussion education policy. Charlie Edward talks with athletes, coaches, and athletic directors to get their reaction to it.
Next, Zipser laces up his sneakers and heads to Neuqua Valley High School for a season preview of their cross-country team. For the past 17 years, the team has gone to state 13 times. This season they’ll have a new cheerleader on the sides. Zipser meets up with a runner who suffered a brain hemorrhage during practice, but he’s now in a special wheelchair to make sure he’s at every meet cheering on his teammates.
In the newest episode of “Naperville Notables,” host Liz Spencer heads to the gridiron to talk to Jim Brown, the president and co-founder of the youth program St. Raphael Football. For more than 40 years, Brown has influenced thousands of athletes and taught them not only about football but also about life.
