A 21-year-old woman from Naperville’s far east side faces a potential prison sentence after being arrested and charged with driving for at least the third time while intoxicated and with a revoked or suspended license.
Aileen F. Beernink, of the 1600 block of Estate Circle in Naperville’s Ranchview neighborhood, remained Monday night in DuPage County Jail in Wheaton on a $5,000 cash bond. She is to stand trial on charges of driving with a license suspended or revoked for DUI for the third time, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs and driving without insurance, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court.
Beernink was arrested about 2:50 a.m. Sunday while traveling on the 1100 block of Emerald Drive in the West Highlands neighborhood, written Naperville police reports indicated. A patrol officer, who stopped her because she was driving her vehicle with its headlights off, determined Beernink was under the influence of an unspecified narcotic and had a suspended or revoked license, the reports stated.
Police records indicated Beernink was arrested June 18 near Jackson Avenue and Mill Street on two counts of DUI and three other traffic offenses. Court records showed a judge on Oct. 12 placed her on a year of court supervision and assessed $2,310 in fines and legal costs in that case.
She was also arrested in 2008 by Naperville police in separate cases involving possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis and driving too fast for conditions, according to court records. She was ticketed again in 2009 for driving without headlights and earlier this year for driving too fast for conditions, court records showed.
Beernink is also the defendant in a civil lawsuit filed in August. She is accused of damaging a man’s vehicle during a traffic crash, according to court records.
